What Families Say

Frequently Asked Questions:

Is Ambassador Kids Montessori Licensed?

Yes, We are DCF licensed are are subject to surprise visits just like a facility school

Is Ambassador Kids Montessori a Daycare or a Preschool?

We are a Christian Montessori preschool, not a daycare

Is Ambassador Kids Montessori a Year-Round School?

We have a 10-month school year, Sept.-May and a 2-month summer camp (June-July). If we have spots available, you can enroll mid-year. Please call us to see if we have any spots available. We are CLOSED in August

How is Christian Faith included

We teach the Books of the Bible, Memory verses, pray in Jesus' name and do Praise and Worship songs

Does my child have to be potty trained?

Yes. Children should be toilet trained or actively working toward toilet independence. We allow a 60-day potty training transition period after enrollment. After 60 days, children are expected to attend without diapers or pull-ups and should have little to no accidents.

If a child continues to need regular toileting support after the transition period, a $90 monthly Toileting Support Fee will be added to tuition until the child is toilet independent.

Because we are a small, one-room Montessori classroom, children need to be able to use the restroom with minimal assistance so the teacher can safely supervise the entire class. Please contact us if you are unsure whether your child is ready.

What is your teaching philosophy?

We believe that every child can learn, some much slower but growth is still taking place, we follow a “whole child” philosophy where we work with you to improve your child’s Social, Emotional, Cognitive, Language, and Physical skills. Our Montessori curriculum is based on the NAEYC guidelines and features a balance of child-initiated hands-on activities and Guided assistance to learn the lesson or Work. Your child will learn socialization skills, such as greeting and making eye contact, making friends, developing social and emotional skills, such as breathing techniques to calm down and be more equipped upon leaving, to face the next chapter.

Are there additional fees during the year?

Yes, professional photos are taken and you can choose which package your family wants. Most of our field trips are free, in the event field trip are over a certain amount, you will be asked to contribute. Family members can come too! Your child will also receive at no extra cost: a preschool shirt to wear on Spirit Day and a Year end graduation portfolio.

What if my child has food restrictions?

We do not supply meals or snacks, so every family brings in their own snacks, and or meals. We trust our parents to send in healthy meals and snack choices for their child, ie, fresh fruits, veggies and water. We create a nut-free classroom any time a child’s allergy is severe enough to require an Epipen.

Is the registration fee refundable?

No.
