🍎 Hi there! I'm Mrs. Thia (Tia), and teaching is my lifelong passion! Since age 8, I've loved guiding kids through Bible stories. Over time, I discovered my gift for teaching and continued at teaching at church from age 15.
🎓 With a Master's in Education, Childcare Director's Certification, and First Aid/CPR certification, my dedication to Children's Ministry has only grown. I find joy in making Jesus accessible to my students and hold a Montessori Primary 3-6 Guide Diploma.

👨🏫Meet my husband, Christopher! He's been nurturing young minds for over ten years. He's DCF-certified, ensuring top-notch safety standards. Certified in Emergency Response Training (CERT) and First Aid, he's committed to your child's well-being.
💖 Both of us are trained in Trauma-Informed Practices (foster children) to create a safe, valued space for your child's development. Excited to start this journey together! Let's chat more about how AKM can be the perfect place for your child's growth!

It’s never too early to call, so call as soon as you even think about registering, because our classes fill up ridiculously fast!
We have a 10-month school year Sept.-May) and a 2-month summer camp (June-July). If we have spots available, you can enroll mid-year. Please call us to see if we have any spots available. CLOSED in August
Preschool classes are for children who are ages 3-5 (and "independent almost-3-year-olds") by Sep. 1. Summer camp is for children who are ages 4-8 by June 1.
Yes. Children should be toilet trained or actively working toward toilet independence. We allow a 60-day potty training transition period after enrollment. After 60 days, children are expected to attend without diapers or pull-ups and should have little to no accidents.
If a child continues to need regular toileting support after the transition period, a $90 monthly Toileting Support Fee will be added to tuition until the child is toilet independent.
Because we are a small, one-room Montessori classroom, children need to be able to use the restroom with minimal assistance so teachers can safely supervise the entire class. Please contact us if you are unsure whether your child is ready.
We follow a “whole child” philosophy where we work with you to improve your child’s Social, Emotional, Cognitive, Language, and Physical skills. Our curriculum is based on the NAEYC guidelines and features a balance of teacher-directed and child-initiated hands-on activities to accomplish these goals. We are a Montessori preschool so we use a Montessori Curriculum. Your child will learn to socialize, make friends, develop social and emotional skills, and be more than ready for Kindergarten!
No. Your $300 registration fee covers all your child’s supplies and reserves a spot in our program. Your child won’t pay anything to attend our field trips and activities. And your family can come for free too! Your child will also receive at no extra cost: a preschool shirt to wear on Spirit Day and a graduation portfolio!
No worries. Several of our students have food intolerances or severe allergies. We ask these families to bring in their own snacks, and we create nut-free classrooms any time a child’s allergy is severe enough to require an epi pen.
No.
We have the smallest class sizes in town so your child gets lots of 1-on-1 time. We only have 5 students per class.
Follow our simple 3-step process below to register your child into our preschool!
